Cyclist sustains minor injuries after being struck by SUV in St John's

A cyclist walked away from a collision with minor injuries after being struck by a SUV in the centre of St. John’s late Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency personnel were called to a parking lot off FroudeAvenue at around 3:45 p.m. following the collision. Reports from the scene indicate a cyclist was struck while riding in the parking lot as the SUV was backing out of a parking spot.

The cyclist was assessed by NL Health Services paramedics, but did not need a transport to hospital.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are investigating.
