Couple dead after fire in Campbellton

An elderly couple is deceased after a fire in Campbellton on Saturday.

Police responded to a call from a neighbour who was checking in on the couple.

It was determined that there was a fire that appeared to have extinguished itself, had occurred inside the home and was not detected.

The couple, both in their eighties, were located deceased inside the residence.

The investigation is continuing.
