Council adopts motion to change Royal St. John's Regatta Holiday

There is a change coming to the Royal St. John's Regatta Holiday for 2025.

To accommodate the 2025 Canada Games St. John's City Council unanimously approved moving the civic holiday usually held the first Wednesday in August to July 30.

This change will free up Quidi Vidi Lake for Canada Games athletes, who require the lake for training and competitions in canoeing and kayaking from August 8 to 25, 2025.
