Corner Brook RNC Kept Busy With Two Stolen Vehicles & More #nltraffic

On Thursday evening the RNC were patrolling Wellington Street when an officer observed the stolen Kia Rio from an earlier reported break and enter complaint being operated on the roadway.


An attempt to stop the vehicle was conducted but the vehicle fled from police and last seen on Main Street heading in an east direction.


Police did not pursue the vehicle.


Then at about 1:30 am this morning an officer driving through Margaret Bowater Park observed a pickup truck in a ditch with extensive damages.


Passengers were located with the vehicle. The driver sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries while the passenger sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries and had to be extracted from the vehicle with the assistance of the Corner Brook Fire Department.


Police determined that the vehicle had been stolen from Deer Lake earlier in the night. Both the male adult driver and the male adult passenger were conveyed to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital to be treated for their injuries.


The incident remains under investigation.


Charges are anticipated.


Police also responded to a break and enter, an attempted break and enter, and stopped a speeding driver.
