Contract Awarded to Review Operating Grant Program for Child Care Centres

The provincial government has awarded a contract valued at $149,000 to Deloitte to review the Operating Grant Program following a Request for Proposals.

The Operating Grant Program addresses the affordability of childcare services.

The government is committed to exploring potential enhancements to the program to ensure that regulated operations remain financially viable and to retain and attract new early childhood educators.

More than 700 new spaces are set to be added before the end of the year.

The results of the review are due back to the Department of Education by September 30.
