Contract awarded for construction of Kenmount Terrace School

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded the contract for the construction of a new school for Kenmount Terrace.
Olympic Construction Limited has been awarded a contract valued at $41.9 million for the new facility which will include pre-kindergarten to Grade 7 in English and French streams.
The new school will be a three-story building, approximately 11,803 square metres, and will be accessible from Ladysmith Drive. It will include 43 classrooms for a projected enrolment of approximately 860 students and program spaces appropriate for the K-7 grade levels. The school will also include three pre-kindergarten homerooms for 60 children.
This school is expected to be the largest in the province with this grade configuration.
