The City of St. John’s is inviting local event and market organizers to submit proposals to host a series of vendor markets on the Downtown Pedestrian Mall this summer. The 2026 season runs July 4 to September 7.

Successful applicants will receive the market space free of charge, with each market featuring 20 to 60 vendors, at least 75 per cent of whom must be local crafters or artisans. A small number of non-artisan exhibitors—no more than two per market—are also permitted. Licensed food vendors and food trucks may participate if they have the proper permits, equipment, and insurance. Admission for the public will be free.

The City says it may select multiple organizers to operate markets throughout the season and reserves the right to cancel markets at any time.

Proposals must include a description of the market concept, previous experience organizing events, proposed market hours and dates, the number of markets planned, and acknowledgment of the insurance requirements.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 13, 2026.
