The City of St. John’s will close all city offices and community centres today for the Labour Day holiday.
Curbside waste collection will not take place on Monday. Instead, collection will occur Tuesday, September 8, along with the regular Tuesday pickup.
The city said collection times may be later than usual because crews will be servicing waste from two areas.
Street cleaning operations will continue as scheduled on Monday, beginning at 10 p.m. Vehicles that are not moved during the posted times will be ticketed.
The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will also be closed to residential and commercial users on Labour Day.
All city parking bylaws remain in effect, although paid parking will not be enforced on Monday because it is a Shops Closing Holiday.
The Visitor Information Centre will remain open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Splash pads at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park and Kenmount Terrace Community Centre will operate from 9 a.m. until dusk. Monday will be the final day of operation for the splash pads this season.
Public washrooms will be available at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park, Kenmount Terrace Community Park, Quidi Vidi Lake and Kenny’s Pond.
