Writer: Web WritersWeb Writers

On Saturday Ward 3 Councillor Greg Noseworthy was joined by Deputy Mayor O'Leary, At-Large Councillor Sandy Hickman, Ward 4 Councillor Tom Davis and community members for a clean-up in the George’s Pond area.

At the cleanup, Councillor Noseworthy announced that the City of St. John's will be installing cameras in the coming weeks in the area to address concerns of littering and illegal dumping.

Illegal dumping is the disposal of unwanted waste in unauthorized areas. It is a serious problem that can pollute the land and water and negatively impact wildlife.

Residents can report suspicious activity involving the improper disposal of waste, in particular, crimes in progress as well as details on illegal dump site locations to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222 -TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip through the Crime Stoppers Website.
