Chemical Spill in Downtown St. John's #nltraffic

Several streets in Downtown St. John's were closed due to a chemical spill.

A flatbed truck overturned on Water Street East and Cochrane Street.

The corrosive chemical had a potent odour and was contained before it entered the storm drain.

People are asked to avoid the area.
