Charges laid following a collision involving off-road vehicles in Pouch Cove

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has laid charges following a collision involving off-road vehicles in Pouch Cove.


On Sunday (July 13) around 5:15 p.m. Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Operational Patrol Services responded to the area of Main Road and Wall’s Road to reports of a three-vehicle collision involving two ATV’s and a sedan. No one was injured after a quad rear-ended another quad that it was travelling with that had stopped behind a vehicle that was attempting a left-hand turn. There was minor damage to the three vehicles involved.


The result of the investigation a total of eight charges were laid under the Off-Road Vehicles Act against the two male youth drivers and their parents including.


  • Operating an off-road vehicle on a roadway

  • Operating an off-road vehicle with undue care and attention

  • Permitting operation off-road vehicle without insurance

  • Owner allowing operation while unsupervised

  • Permitting operation without a license plate


The road was also closed for some time as police investigated the crash. Both of the quads were seized at the scene.
