Central Health to provide update today on diagnostic issues

Central Health will provide an update today on what it describes as a multi-patient occurrence in the central region pertaining to mammography results.

Andrée Robichaud, President and Chief Executive Officer of Central Health, and Dr. Mark Spurrell, Acting Chief of Staff for Central Health will provide a virtual update at 1:30 pm. They will be joined by Dr. Angela Pickles, Clinical Chief Medical Imaging, Eastern Health.

This is the result of notification that some viewing workstations used for digital review did not meet the recommended technical standard for the review of mammography images.

Central Health will notify those impacted.

Both Eastern Health and Western Health will now conduct a review of their tests and will provide an update next week.
