Residents across the Conception Bay North (CBN) region will soon have access to 24-hour police services following a commitment by the provincial government to increase RCMP resources in the area.
The announcement was made during a meeting hosted by Bay Roberts Mayor Geoff Seymour, chair of the CBN Joint Council, on Feb. 10. The meeting brought together representatives from RCMP Provincial Command, Justice Minister Helen Conway-Ottenheimer, MHA Pam Parsons, MHA Riley Balsom, and elected officials from municipalities throughout the CBN region.
Officials confirmed that the additional resources will allow the RCMP to implement round-the-clock policing across CBN, a move welcomed by municipal leaders as a significant step toward improving public safety.
Mayor Seymour and other officials described the expansion as positive news for residents, saying enhanced police coverage will strengthen emergency response and community safety throughout the region.
