Caution advised for travel on Tailrace Bridge in Deer Lake

The speed limit has been reduced on the Tailrace Bridge on the Trans Canada Highway in Deer Lake.

The recent rainfall has caused potholes along the structure.

Motorists are advised that traffic speed has been reduced to 30 kilometres per hour on the bridge.

Emergency repairs are underway. A contractor has been engaged for longer-term repairs which will begin next week. Replacement of the bridge is scheduled to begin during the 2026 road construction season.
