Carbonear to distribute radon test kits

The Town of Carbonear is participating in the 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge.
The initiative provides residents with a free radon kit to allow residents to test their homes for the presence of radon.
There is also an information session that covers the health effects of radon, why it’s a concern in the area, and what Health Canada recommends for homeowners.
Free test kits will be available to 100 households, with details provided during the information session.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for the program at https://takeactiononradon.ca/100-radon-test-kit-challenge/.
The free Radon Information Session will be held in the Council Chambers on November 12 at 7 p.m. on Zoom or in person.
Participants will be able to pick up their radon test from Friday, November 13 until Friday, November 20.
Funding for this project is provided by Health Canada.
