Canada Drive to close for construction beginning today

Canada Drive will be closed between Renews Street and Cowan Avenue from Monday, Aug. 31 to Friday, Sept. 4 to allow for construction of a shared-use path and related road rehabilitation.

A detour will be in place using Renews Street, Trinity Street and Cowan Avenue.

Local traffic will continue to have access to the area, including residents and employees of Cowan Heights Elementary.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route and avoid the area where possible. Drivers are asked to follow posted signs, barricades and directions from construction personnel.

Alternative pedestrian routes will also be provided during the closure.
