Bus passenger charged after altercation in Deer Lake
Deer Lake RCMP arrested 26-year-old Aaron Day after an altercation on a bus on Wednesday.
Police responded to a complaint regarding a passenger who refused to exit the bus after assaulting the bus driver.
When officers arrived they engaged with Day, who was uncooperative and continued to refuse to exit. Police evacuated the other passengers, one of whom was also assaulted by the accused.
He was then arrested and taken into custody.
Day appeared in court yesterday and is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, breach of release order, causing a disturbance, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Day was remanded into custody and will appear in court again on November 10.
