Bay St. George RCMP investigating horrific animal harm case

The Bay St. George RCMP are asking for information after an abandoned cat with an apparent gunshot wound was found in the West Bay area.

On Monday, police received a call from an animal rescue organization reporting that an orange cat was placed in their care after it was dropped off at a veterinarian’s office and received preliminary treatment for what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The cat did not have a collar or other identification.

The individual who turned over the animal did not provide their information.

Police are urging the owner of the cat, the individual who brought the animal for care and anyone with information about this incident to contact Bay St. George RCMP at 709-643-2118.
