Auto Repair Shop in Conception Bay South Gutted by Early Morning Fire

Fire destroys auto repair shop in Conception Bay South, Thursday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Advanced Auto Repair Center, on Foxtrap Access Road just down from Peacekeepers Way , shortly before 8:10 a.m.. The call reportedly came from the owner. When crews arrived on the scene, black smoke was coming from both sides of the auto shop and a vent of the roof.

Despite an attack from the front and the sides of the commercial building, it was destroyed by the fire with the roof caving in on itself. Fire crews spent over thirty minutes fighting the fire, and ensuring no hot spots remained for the next hour and thirty.

Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) closed Foxtrap Access Road from Peachytown Road to Venice Heights.

There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC).
