ATV operator arrested for impaired driving in Lark Harbour

RCMP arrested a 54-year-old man from Lark Harbour for suspected impaired driving last Friday.

Officers observed an ATV travelling on the roadway that had no licence plate and failed to stop at a stop sign.

When officers conducted a traffic stop, they observed open alcohol in the cab of the ATV.

The driver was suspected to be impaired, was arrested and transported back to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than the legal limit.

The driver was issued several tickets, a driving licence suspension and the ATV was seized and impounded.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to impaired driving charges.
