At least one person sent to hospital following single-vehicle rollover in Mount Pearl on Friday

At least one person was sent to the hospital following single-vehicle rollover on Friday.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Topsail Road near Thomas Byrne Drive, just before 12:20 p.m, when emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found a SUV overturned on it's roof in the westbound lanes between Thomas Byrne Drive and Corisande Drive infront of a commercial property. Firefighters with the St John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) were seen extracting one female from the overturned vehicle, and was seen being loaded onto a nearby stretcher, while NL Health Services paramedics assessed the individual into the back of an ambulance.

Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC), and Mount Pearl Municipal Enforcement had to closed the westbound lanes of Topsail Road heading towards the collision, and detour traffic away from the incident. There was significant snowfall in the area at the time of the collision.
