Another 4 COVID-19 Cases Reported

There are four new cases of COVID-19 today. Two are in Eastern Health and two are in Central Health.

There are now 13 active cases.

One person is in hospital.

So far, 79,289 people have been tested.

One of the new cases in Eastern Health is travel-related the other is under investigation, related to the cluster announced yesterday.

A case in Central Health is related to Marine Atlantic.

Dr. Fitzgerald says it is important to download the COVID-19 app.

On Thursday there were four new cases of COVID-19. All are located in the Eastern Health region.

The source of the new cases is unknown at this time.

One of the new cases could be connected to a daycare. Parents have been notified.

People who were in various places at various times will need to get tested as contact tracing continues. Dr. Fitzgerald says there could be community transmission.

Dr. Fitzgerald said yesterday that it is too early to tell if restrictions will need to be tightened.
