An Air Canada Jazz aircraft has been involved in an incident at LaGuardia Airport in New York.

Both the pilot and co-pilot have been killed.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, the aircraft was on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport and struck a Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting vehicle that was responding to a separate incident.

Emergency response protocols were activated.

The airport was closed to facilitate the response and allow for a thorough investigation.

The aircraft was carrying 72 passengers and four crew and had departed Montreal.
