A final agreement has been reached with private and community road ambulance operator associations in the province

The agreement extends the associations’ service agreements to March 31, 2022.

It includes a four percent wage increase per full-time employee over two years. The agreement includes additional support to establish community paramedicine programming through planning, hiring contract resources and undertaking pilot projects.

To support ambulance service in rural areas of the province, the agreement also provides funding for rural ambulance operators to hire Advanced Care Paramedics.

The private road ambulance operators are represented by two associations, the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Ambulance Services, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Ambulance Operator Association.
