Additional charges laid in connection to historical sexual violence in St. John's

WARNING: THIS STORY CONTAINS DETAILS THAT MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME READERS.

The RNC has laid additional charges against two men in St. John's in connection with historical sexual violence.

On Thursday 62-year-old Tony Humby was charged with an additional count of sexual assault and an additional two counts of sexual exploitation.

80-year-old Bruce Escott was also charged with another count of sexual assault and sexual exploitation. Escott now faces another charge of sexual assault in connection with an event believed to have occurred in 2019.

These charges are in addition to several other charges that were laid previously. In November of 2022, the RNC received a report related to historical sexual violence by an adult upon youth.

Both men remain in custody.

The investigation remains active, and officers believe there is further information related to these events.
