A Single-vehicle Rollover on Pitts Memorial Drive resulted in one person being injured on Monday

Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to Pitts Memorial Drive just east of the Ruth Avenue overpass at around 6:45 p.m. on Monday for reports of a single-vehicle rollover.

When firefighters arrived on scene, a single vehicle had landed on its roof in the median. The driver, who was reportedly the lone occupant of the vehicle, suffered a head injury as a result of the crash. It is unclear if the person was transported to the hospital.

As firefighters treated the injured driver, other drivers approaching the scene almost struck pylons that firefighters had placed to secure the scene. One vehicle drove around the pylons into the scene, narrowly avoiding the cones.

Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions east of the Ruth Avenue overpass as emergency services attended the scene.
