A pedestrian was sent to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in St. John’s on Friday

An elderly person was taken to hospital on Friday after being struck by a vehicle in the west end of St. John’s.

Firefighters were called to the intersection of Cornwall Heights and Cornwall Crescent just after 6:35 p.m. on Friday for reports of a vehicle vs. Pedestrian collision.

Firefighters and paramedics attended to the elderly person, who was then placed on a stretcher and sent to the hospital in an ambulance.

Traffic at the intersection was disrupted as emergency personnel attended the scene.
