53 year old male arrested following single-vehicle crash in St John's, Tuesday night

A 53-year-old man was arrested following a single-vehicle crash in St. John's on Tuesday night.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 11:00 p.m. on Kelsey Drive, where they found a severely damaged vehicle in the roadway, with two traffic signs embedded in the hood.

The driver was taken into custody for impaired driving and was later released with a future court date for charges of impaired driving and refusal to provide a breath sample.

The northbound lanes of Kelsey Drive, between Messenger Avenue and The Home Depot, were closed for some time as crews worked to clean up a significant amount of oil spilled on the road.
