22-Year-Old Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash Near Rocky Harbour

A 22-year-old man is dead following a motorcycle crash on Route 430 south of Rocky Harbour Tuesday evening.


Rocky Harbour RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision at approximately 8 p.m. on June 16. Firefighters from the Rocky Harbour and Norris Point fire departments, along with emergency medical services personnel, also attended the scene.


Police said the motorcycle's driver was pronounced dead at the scene.


An RCMP Traffic Services collision reconstructionist was called in to assist with the investigation. Route 430 was partially closed overnight while officers examined the crash site.


The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been engaged as part of the investigation.


Police have not released the identity of the deceased.


The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
