22 medical students agree to stay in province after completion of program

The provincial government has announced that 22 medical students currently at Memorial University have agreed to stay in the province.

Through the Undergraduate Medical Student Bursary Program, which offers $7,500 in funding to full-time students enrolled in their fourth academic year of the Undergraduate Medical Education Program at the university, 22 students will work in the province for at least 12 months as part of a return-in-service agreement.

The bursaries total $165,000.
