Midwifery Services to be Launched in the Province

As of today, Midwifery Services will be launched in the province.

Minister of Health and Community Services, John Haggie will officially launch the service in Gander.

Andrée Robichaud, President and CEO of Central Health and Gisela Becker, the provincial midwifery consultant will join the minister.

A midwife is a health professional who cares for mothers and newborns around childbirth, a specialization known as midwifery. The education and training for a midwife is similar to that of a nurse.
