Bay St. George RCMP Kept Busy With Bad Drivers #nltraffic


Bay St. George RCMP have been kept busy taking bad drivers off our roadways.

Police stopped a 35-year-old woman from Stephenville on December 21 and conducted a road side breath test, the result of which was above the provincial limit for alcohol but below criminal legislation. She was issued a license suspension and her vehicle was towed. The driver was also issued a ticket for having open liquor in the vehicle.

On Christmas Eve RCMP conducted a traffic stop as part of a check stop on Route 490 near Stephenville Crossing. A 46-year-old man of St. George's was found to be driving with a suspended license. He was issued a ticket for driving while suspended and his vehicle was impounded.

On December 28, 2019, Bay St. George RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver. A short time later, a traffic stop was conducted on Main Street in Stephenville. The driver, a 46-year-old man of Stephenville Crossing, was given a road side breath test, the result of which was above the provincial limit for alcohol but below criminal legislation. Police suspended his driver's license and seized and impounded his vehicle. The driver was also issued a ticket for having open liquor in the vehicle.
