Motorists Reminded to be Extra Observant for Caribou on Northern Peninsula #nltraffic

The public is advised to watch out for caribou on the Northern Peninsula.

There is a caribou herd near roadways located between St. Anthony Airport and Eddies Cove and roadways located between St. Anthony Airport and the Town of Main Brook.

This includes the road leading to Cook’s Harbour where multiple caribou-vehicle collisions have occurred in recent weeks.

These animals are expected to remain in the region throughout the winter, making them vulnerable to motorized traffic as they cross these roads at various locations throughout the winter.
