Marystown Students Charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder


On December 11, RCMP on the Burin Peninsula received a report of death threats being made against students and staff of Sacred Heart Academy in Marystown.

Police officers attended the school, conducted an investigation and arrested two youth for conspiracy to commit murder and uttering death threats.

The two individuals involved were held in custody overnight and attended court.

Both have since been released on a number of conditions and are scheduled to attend court on January 15, 2020.

The investigation is continuing and the names of the two involved are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
