Northern Harvest Licences Suspended

Northern Harvest will have to provide full disclosure of the large salmon die-off and their licences are suspended.

The additional mortality numbers make total numbers higher than initially reported by the company.

As a result of the ongoing investigation and evidence of non-compliance, Minister Gerry Byrne suspending all affected Northern Harvest Seafood Farms licenses and issued a directive that requires the company to continue the cleanup of the sites.

2.6 million salmon died in a "warm water event" according to the company.
