CBC Taking Legal Action Against Conservative Party #elxn43
On October 10th the CBC launched a lawsuit against the Conservative Party.
The Conservative Party said that they received notice from CBC's lawyers informing them that they would be suing over the use of news clips in a Conservative Party social media video.
CBC is suing on the grounds of copyright infringement after the Conservative Party used clips from the English-language leader's debate.
They are also claiming that the Conservative Party violated the “moral rights” of one of their anchors, Rosemary Barton.
