Operation Impact targeting drivers over Thanksgiving weekend #nltraffic

Both the RCMP and RNC are taking part in operation impact which will target drivers over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Operation Impact is an initiative to increase public compliance with safe driving practices through zero-tolerance enforcement and education.

It will take place October 11-15.

Its goals are to save lives, reduce injuries and promote harm reduction by targeting impaired driving (alcohol/drug), distracted driving (cell phone use & texting), seatbelt use and aggressive driving. This initiative will occur over the Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend when traffic volume is expected to increase.
