RNC Near Corner Brook Stop Driver Owing 13K in Fines

On Friday afternoon the RNC conducted a traffic stop on the TCH just east of Pinchgut Lake for a speeding violation.

As a result of the stop, it was determined that the male driver was bound by a Justice Undertaking with a condition to not operate a motor vehicle in relation to charges under the Highway Traffic Act for no valid driver’s licence/no registration/and no insurance plus $13,264.31 in outstanding in fines.

A 31 year old male resident of Deer Lake was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Justice Undertaking under the Criminal Code , he was also issued 8 Arrest Summary Offence Tickets under the Highway Traffic Act for speeding/driving while suspended/no registration/no insurance/ fail to transfer ownership/use of studded tires/ defaced or altered licence plate and no stickers attached. He was arrested and detained to appear in WASH Court on September 21, 2019. The vehicle was impounded.
