Collision in Cupids Results in Arrest of Wanted Alberta Man

In the early morning hours of July 4, 2019, Bay Roberts RCMP responded to a call of a vehicle that was precariously leaning up against a tree off Route 60 in Cupids.

No occupants were found at the scene by the responding officers.

Further investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was taken from the scene by a passing motorist and brought to the Health Sciences Centre for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A joint investigation by Bay Roberts and Holyrood RCMP, along with the RNC Street Patrol, revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Conception Harbour sometime overnight and the suspect had arrest warrants out of Alberta.

The RNC executed an arrest warrant and the suspect, a 36-year-old man from Colliers, is expected to be transported back to Alberta to answer to previous charges.

The investigation into the stolen vehicle and the collision in Cupids is ongoing.
