First Shipment Made From the Beaver Brook Antimony Mine

China Minmetals Corporation has made their first shipment of concentrate from the Beaver Brook Antimony Mine to China on June 19.

There have been approximately 100 jobs created at the Beaver Brook Antimony Mine.

At full production, 160,000 tonnes of antimony ore will be mined per year and processed into concentrate.

Antimony alloys are used in batteries, low friction metals and cable sheathing, among other products.

Antimony compounds are used to make flame-proofing materials, paints, ceramic enamels, glass and pottery.
