Trash From Philippines Returns to Canada

The trash that caused a diplomatic dispute between Canada and the Philippines has returned to Canada.

The Anna Maersk came into port in British Columbia early on Saturday morning.

The ship was carrying 69 shipping containers of garbage.

The containers will be unloaded and held there before being moved to an incineration facility in Burnaby.

Originally the company Chronic Inc., which is no longer in business shipped the containers to the Philippines in 2013 to be recycled.

President Rodrigo Duterte called on Canada to take back the trash by May 15.
