Canada Day/Memorial Day Weekend Outlook #nlwx

Canada Day is the national day of Canada. A federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of July 1, 1867, the effective date of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867). This year marks 152 years of Confederation.

In this province it is also Memorial Day. Memorial Day has been observed annually since 1 July 1917, to recall the losses of approximately 700 soldiers of the 1st Newfoundland Regiment.

Canada Day: Rain is expected across Newfoundland, specifically along the south coast and central. It will also be cooler with highs from 10 to 15.
