When A School Zone Isn't A School Zone #nltraffic

We've all seen the signs and slowed down our vehicles to 30 km/h in a school zone, but it may not be a school zone depending on the time of day and time of year.

A school zone is defined under the Highway Traffic Act as the portion or length of highway between the two posted signs indicating a school zone.

The zone is only considered a school zone between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on days when school is regularly held.

Anything outside those times, including holidays, and summer vacation, the area is not considered a school zone.
