Government Reaches Collective Agreement with Registered Nurses Union

The Provincial Government has reached a collective agreement with the Registered Nurses Union. Ratification of this agreement concluded on Thursday.

Government and the RNUNL, which represents approximately 5,500 members in Newfoundland and Labrador, have reached an agreement that includes no wage increases, the payout and elimination of severance and changes to post-retirement benefits.

This agreement follows on previous collective agreements with NAPE, CUPE the AAHP and the NLTA in supporting government’s balanced approach to fiscal management, and maintaining services while creating a more affordable public service.

The current projected savings of the severance payout across the entire public service is approximately $25 million per year.
