Man Swims Across Niagara River Enters US Illegally


U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents say three people have been arrested after a Spanish citizen allegedly swam across the Niagara River into the United States illegally.

Agent Josh Barrett said the man is lucky to be alive after swimming across. The Niagara River is hazardous with rapids, strong currents and low water temperatures.

There was also a vehicle believed to have been involved which was found by the Niagara County Sheriff's office.

Of the three arrested, two are from Spain, the third is an American Citizen.
