A pilot who was operating a WestJet plane is on medical leave after he was struck in the eye by a laser.
The flight departed St. John's and was heading to Orlando.
The incident happened on May 18.
Crew reported a laser strike while on approach to Orlando International Airport.
Local authorities were contacted, and the FAA is investigating.
The flight landed without incident.
