Victoria Day Weekend Signals Start of Summer Tourism Season

The 2019 summer tourism season starts this Victoria Day Weekend with the opening of Visitor Information Centres, Provincial Historic Sites and some Provincial Parks throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Provincial Visitor Information Centres, located in Port aux Basques, Notre Dame, Clarenville, Whitbourne and Argentia, opened on Friday, May 17, providing information, advice and direction to travellers on local festivals and events, attractions and experiences, as well as hidden gems located throughout the province.

In addition to these sites, Provincial Visitor Information Centres located in Deer Lake Airport and St. John’s Airport are open year round.

Provincial Historic Sites, found in St. John’s, Cupids, Heart’s Content, Bonavista, Trinity and Boyd’s Cove were opened Saturday, May 18.

The Provincial Historic Site at Point Amour, will open on Wednesday, May 22. These sites offer a wide variety of regular and special programming for all ages that celebrate the culture and heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador.
