United States to remove tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum
The United States have removed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum.
Canada and the United States have agreed to eliminate the tariffs within two days.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, “Today’s decision by the United States to remove tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum is terrific news for Canadian steel and aluminum workers, their families, and many communities across the country."
The tariffs were imposed last year after the United States said that the tariffs were due to national security.
The tariffs were 25 per cent on imports of steel and 10 per cent on aluminum.
As retaliation Canada imposed tariffs on steel, aluminum and other products.
