RNC Investigating Report of Shooting at Avalon Mall

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a report of a shooting at the Avalon Mall.

On Friday, May 10, shortly after 10:00 p.m. members of the RNC’s Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a shooting at the Avalon Mall in St. John’s.

Upon arrival, officers searched the mall and did not locate anyone with a firearm.

There was no information obtained at scene to substantiate the initial report and responding officers ensured the safety of the public at the time. Investigators have traced the location of the initial call and the investigation into the call is ongoing.
