EDITORIAL: How Can We Fix Corner Brook?

Corner Brook is quickly becoming a retirement community. On a Saturday through Tuesday, most of the city's businesses close around 6:00 pm.

Corner Brook's dwindling population is very much our own problem... there is nothing here to keep young people. We have three post-secondary institutions. With all those students coming here, it would be great if we had a plan to keep people here after they graduated.

Calling Corner Brook a city is no longer factual. A town has a population of 1,000 to 20,000. Corner Brook has a population of 19,806. Falling a little under 200 short, but noteworthy nonetheless.

This post isn't meant to bring Corner Brook down, it's meant for us to wake up and fix it!

What can we do differently? The status quo isn't working.
